Custom Clearance

In order to be able to offer a truly complete service package to our clients, we started our business, by creating a department of Professionally Licensed Customs Brokers.

Our 25 years’ experience in dealing and managing shipments which demanded high specialism and the excellent knowledge of new Customs status, guarantees the high-quality service in Customs clearance matters and ensures that your freight arrives to its destination in a timely fashion fully secured.

In order to give you a small sample of Customs Clearance Code, please find hereunder some valuable information.

• Merchandise with origin within European Community are moving free without levy of duties and taxes – unless they are under status of Special Purchase Tax.
• Merchandise with origin outside European Community can take one of the following Custom status:

1. 1. Import
   2. Bonded
   3. Export or re-export
   4. Completion for import or re-export
   5. Manufacturing for re-export
   6. Temporary import (Carnet ATA)
   7. Transit

At the following pages you will find analytically the minimum needed documents in each case and we will be more than happy to discuss with you any issue or clarification you may need.

Import of goods

For imports from European Community countries, we need the following documents:

• Commercial invoice and packing list of supplier
• CMR for trucking transportation
• Bill of Lading & T2L for sea transportation
• AWB for air transportation

The document that we need usually for imports from countries outside European Community are the following:

• Commercial invoice of supplier
• Packing list of goods of supplier
• CMR, B/L or AWB
• Certificate of origin
• Authorization letter towards custom brokers of our company
• Insurance policy of goods. In case that shipment is not insured, we need a declaration.

According to the type of merchandise – and the Customs status that they are going to come under – more documents shall be needed in any case.

Custom clearance under Bonded status

ACE Logistics owns Customs Bonded License (Type A) since 17.07.2008

The advantages you have if you decide to place your goods under Bonded status are miscellaneous and below you can find some of them:

• You have the possibility to make massive order of goods in better price, without having to pay right away duties and taxes for the whole quantity but only for goods that you need then and there.
• You have always available stock and only with a simple email or fax, we deliver you the requested quantity within 2 days. In this way you avoid delay of delivery to your clients – Just In Time service.
• You have the ability to custom clear the goods when currency is convenient for you.
• You can manage your sales thriftily by minimizing the costs and keep the price of each item always the best in the market.
• In case you decide not to import all or part of the goods, you can export or re-export them.

The documents that we need for placing your goods under Bonded Status are the same with these of normal import.

Customs clearance of transit shipments

Ace Logistics can arrange a combined transportation and give you the opportunity to organize the sale of your goods from/to any country of Europe through Greece.

You have the solution for your trigonous sales avoiding to pay duties and taxes. You only need to declare “in transit” on the Bill of Lading, AWB, CMR.

We need the same declaration in case you need to deliver the goods to any other Greek Customhouse.

Customs clearance of special cargo

Ace Logistics can arrange a combined transportation and give you the opportunity to organize the sale of your goods from/to any country of Europe through Greece.

You have the solution for your trigonous sales avoiding to pay duties and taxes. You only need to declare “in transit” on the Bill of Lading, AWB, CMR.

We need the same declaration in case you need to deliver the goods to any other Greek Customhouse.
